Terre Chardonnay
Wine
Rochford Terre Chardonnay draws from the Swallowfield Vineyard at Gembrook in the Upper Yarra Valley. The name Terre, meaning 'earth', is a nod to the site's quartz rich soils, perfect for growing Chardonnay.
The fruit is handpicked, crushed and pressed with full solids to oak for natural fermentation. Depending on the vintage, malolactic fermentation may or may not be allowed to occur. After 10 months of maturation on lees, the wine is racked for bottling.
Deep yellow, Rochford Terre Chardonnay is a finely textured wine with nutty, creamy complexity and a racy acidity providing length. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
